In order for an immigrant to work legally in the United States, he or she must be approved, receive an employment authorization document, and have an appropriate employment visa. The USCIS governs the process of employment authorization, and given the number of annual applicants, it can be a difficult goal to achieve. It is recommended that anyone seeking legal employment status should get legal advice from a specialized immigration lawyer.
