Getting a U.S. Green Card as a Special Immigrant

Special immigrants are technically the fourth preference of the employment-based green card category, but this category is sort of a catch-all of various types of U.S. green cards (lawful permanent residence). These are available to categories that don't easily fit anywhere else, such as to people who work for recognize religious organizations or former international U.S. government workers.
