Divorce and U.S. Immigration

Although no one can agree on the exact statistic, it appears that as many as 40% of marriages eventually end in divorce. Thus it stands to reason that some divorces between immigrants and their U.S. citizen or permanent resident petitioners (sponsors) would end this way, as well. However, the implications of such divorces can be greater, in some cases casting doubt on whether the marriage was the real thing in the first place.
