There are circumstances which will allow a person to enter the U.S. even though s/he has been designated as inadmissible. In order to ask for permission to enter despite the designation, you can file an I-602 form, which is an Application for Refugee for Waiver of Grounds of Excludability. There are humanitarian grounds which will allow a person to enter the U.S. despite the inadmissible designation. You may also be eligible if you can prove that the conditions which made you inadmissible are no longer an issue such as a doctor’s note confirming an illness is cured or a certification that you are no longer abusing drugs or alcohol. There are no fees to file an I-602 form.
Talk to an Immigration Attorney for assitance with gaining a waiver or finding other options to enter the US.
