Immigration Asylum

Immigration asylum is the status of an individual who waits to see if they will officially be recognized as a refugee n a country other than their home. Refugees flee their home countries due to political, social, or religious unrest or in times of war as they do not feel safe. As these individuals await their status, they are called asylum seekers as they hope to seek shelter for a temporary or permanent basis in the country for which they fled to. Political asylum is granted by a government to the people who can prove that they are afraid to return to their home country based on a "well founded fear of persecution". People may be granted political asylum and therefore immigration if they left their home country because they were persecuted in the past. If you win political asylum and immigration, you are therefore eligible to apply for your permanent residency in that new country.
