The form, I-40 is one of the numerous forms available from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The purpose is to petition for an alien worker status in order to become a permanent resident of the United States. This form is not filled out by the individual who wishes to become the permanent resident but by the employer who is providing their employment for them and wishes to allow them to stay long term.
