The process to apply for a green card involves several steps and qualifications that are involved in it. Holding a Green Card entitles an individual to live and work within the United States for an unlimited amount of time. When one applies for a green card, they must meet certain qualifications such as a residency, an employer that intends on sponsoring the individual with a job held in place, as well as a sufficient application and review process. When one applies for a green card they must subject themselves to investigation and a full review of their background as the government wants to see and understand everything there is to know about this individual before they grant them Green Card and permanent resident status. Once an individual obtains Green Card status and has permanent residency, they must live in the United States for a consecutive four years before they can apply for citizenship.
