USA H-1B Visa

The H-1B Visa was created for professionals in "Specialty Occupations" to come to the United States. The holder of an H1-B Visa can apply for a Green Card (permanent residency) if a company is willing to sponsor his or her application. To qualify for the USA H1B Visa Program, the employee must work in a 'specialty occupation'. Specialty Occupations currently include: medical/health care, computing and IT, teaching, finance and banking, engineering, legal and pr/marketing. To complete a H1B Visa application, the candidate must obtain a job with a qualified sponsor located in the United States. The H1B employer files a H1B Visa Application of the behalf of the employee with the US Immigration Bureau. Individuals can not sponsor themselves, or apply for their own H1B visa. When awarded, the H1B Visa is only valid for work with the original employer. The employer will need to provide information about the applicant's job, including the duties, dates of employment and rate of compensation. If the applicant changes jobs, the new company will need to file a H1B Visa on their behalf.
