The Naturalization Oath Ceremony is the final step to becoming a naturalized citizen. In some cases, you will be able to take the oath immediately following your interview. Otherwise, the USCIS will notify you by mail of the time and date of your ceremony, and it is imperative that you attend. You will need to bring your Green Card to the Oath ceremony, and turn it in to the USCIS. Once the ceremony is complete, you will no longer need the Green Card, as you will be a naturalized citizen. If the oath is not taken on the same day as your interview, you will need to answer some brief questions about your activities since your interview. An official will read the Oath of Allegiance during the ceremony, and you will need to repeat it back. You will also recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem (text will be provided if needed)
