Green Card Through Marriage

It is possible for an individual to get a Green Card through marriage. As the intent is usually for a government to keep a family together, they usually will grant a Green Card to an individual who is married to either a United States citizen or permanent resident. If an individual is to be granted a Green Card through marriage however it must be demonstrated that they have a legitimate relationship and that the marriage has or will taken place. It is also quite possible that the government will keep tabs on this married couple as the marriage needs to last for a minimum of two years for an individual to keep their status.
