Citizenship Test

A citizenship test is an important part of the process in any country whereby an individual hopes to gain citizenship. As there are a variety of requirements to gain citizenship in each country, there is an established test that an individual must pass before they hope to be made a citizen. Though the number and intensity of questions vary by country, the purpose of most citizenship tests is to be sure that the individual understands all history and principles of the country, and of course the rights, responsibilities and benefits that will be made available as a citizen. In the United States for example, there is a 100-question citizenship test that must be passed. In Canada though, there are 20 questions for which an individual must receive a passing score of 60%.
