Pelosi Honors Immigrants’ Rights Advocates from San Francisco
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today to honor immigrants’ rights advocates from her home district of San Francisco:
“I am proud to announce that three individuals from my home district in San Francisco – Lucas Guttentag, National Director of the Immigrants’ Rights Project for the American Civil Liberties Union of San Francisco; Bill Ong Hing, Professor of Law and Asian Studies at U.C. Davis School of Law; and Mark Silverman, Staff Attorney of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center – will be honored tonight by the National Immigration Forum for their contributions to immigrants’ rights.
“These distinguished friends have each made significant contributions toward safeguarding the rights of immigrants through litigation, outreach, and education. Their advocacy has improved the lives of immigrant families striving to realize and sustain the American dream across the nation. I extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to these three individuals.”
