Some requests for information regarding filing Immigration Forms don't have a charge associated with them. Other forms do require a filing fee. In mid-2007, the cost of those filing fees raised, and in some cases, doubled. This increased cost was supposed to speed the immigration process. For any forms that require fingerprinting or other biometrics services, an addition $80 fee is not included in the price of filing the immigration forms. In some cases, a fee waiver can be requested to help ease the cost of filing the forms.

Understanding Immigration

When a person wants to become a legal alien resident or a citizen of the United States, it's important to file the proper paperwork in a timely manner. An individual should not try to sort out all the requirements alone. An attorney with specialized immigration knowledge can help you understand which forms are needed in which order, and how to prepare them go make the immigration process go more easily.

For an alien to do anything in the US, proper forms are required, from residing here legally, to being able to work, to being able to marry. If the paperwork is incorrect, visas can be revoked and deportation can be the result, so expert advice in immigration matters and immigration paperwork is a necessity.
